Just wanted to shed some light on a car that doesn’t get any recognition in the western hemisphere (definitely because they weren’t sold on this side of the pond). The Renault 21 2L Turbo, initially a front wheel drive competitor to cars that are more popular to us like the Ford Sierra, Saab 9000, Opel Ascona, Vauxhall Cavalier and Peugeot 405. Initially released in 1988 the 21 Turbo did face some adversity in its inability to put its power down efficiently and suffering from serious Turbo Lag. In 1990 The 21 2L turbo eventually evolved into the *Takes Deep breath* Renault 21 2L Turbo Quadra, which not only has a very long winded name but also proved to be a pretty formidable competitor to the aforementioned rivals. Seeing some success in The French Supertourisme/ Superproduction for a short while. I wrote a piece on the Renault 21 which went more in depth a few years ago. Maybe I’ll find it and make another post sooner or later.
